* Positioning is king in the game. When you’re fighting a new monster take a minute to just watch its attacks so you can start figuring out where the best place to be is.
* Don’t worry too much about making all armor sets in low rank. Once you play enough you’ll unlock a higher tier of armor which is strictly better.
* Set up an equipment loadout so you can easily refill your potions and other expended items in ~3 button presses.
* Once you do find a weapon you like I’d just look up a guide on it. Some weapons have some finicky gimmicks and it’s better to have them explained to you than for you to try and figure them out mid-battle.
