• Talk to NPCs multiple times until you've exhausted all their dialogue.

• You will not get the true ending on your first playthrough. Don't worry about it, all it unlocks is an extra boss fight. If you want to know how to unlock it:
  Avoid fighting Gaston (the boss of the Gardens). There's an alternate way into the Spire Dungeon that will let you bypass him.
