Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger VS Darkdeath Evilman
- There's a strict hunger clock, and the best early way to mitigate it is a head piece that dangles a carrot in front of your character's face, called the Appetite Engine. Collect those for your stash once it unlocks, so you can actually spend some time in the dungeons without starving. You’ll want to keep a few on you every delve for the whole game once you get a small stock stored up. Not only do they reduce turn-by-turn hunger buildup immensely, it can itself be eaten for hunger when it breaks.
- It's worth going back to old dungeons to grind out a few runs when you have a few minutes free, they're a good source of Appetite Engines and levels will boost your base stats for the rest of the game.
- When you get killed by a monster, you'll get a phobia for that monster which makes them harder until you overcome it by slaying enough of them. Some boss fights have adds, you should do your best not to get a phobia for an add monster. It can make a boss fight massively frustrating.
- Later there's an upgrade system where you install chips in a body shaped grid and connect nodes to each other. The game doesn't explain very well that the lines you create to connect the nodes should be as long as possible. The longer the line, the bigger the bonus. Pipe dream the lines around and you get some crazy upgrades.
- Check out the custom theme song the game generates for your character. It changes depending on your equipment and is a lot of fun.
- Anyway it's obviously a "grind until you can't lose anymore" kind of game, just keep throwing yourself at the dungeon.
