Super Mario Bros.
- Enemies covered in spikes or have large mouths cannot be jumped on.
- Some question blocks contain power ups instead of coins. Some bricks may also contain power ups or a coin block you can hit repeatedly.
- There are warp zones that you can reach by going outside the normal path.
- It is possible to get unlimited 1-ups by short jumping on a turtle or beetle shell that is right next to a raised block. You land and it bounces off that nearby block and back into your next jump. Take care not to do this for too long.
- There are hidden 1-ups in each world #-1 that appear when you collect all the coins from the previous world's #-3 level. Level 1-1 1up is found before the first pit.
- Jumping into "safe" enemies while in the falling animation may count as landing on top of them.
- Any hammers that King Koopa throws at you that are heading in the right direction has no hit boxes.
- The later castle levels in #-4 worlds may require a certain path to get through or King Koopa reverts the space around him and sends you back to the start of the path.
