Eternal Strands
- If you return back to base shortly (not sure of exact time) after leaving for the wilds, time won't advance. This allows you to adjust your gear if you change your mind. You can also move between safe areas (ones where you can't use weapons) endlessly without advancing time.
- However, if you save while out in the field and reload, you will start back at base and time will have advanced.
- Don't feel you have to exhaustively explore the maps for collectibles when you first unlock them - the main story and side quests will repeatedly send you back to the same maps, so you'll have plenty of chances.
- The number of remaining codex entries on the map screen includes ones that are quest objectives, so if you can't find them all it might be that you need to wait for a later quest.
- A few collectibles require a mobility power to reach which you unlock about 2/3 of the way through the main quest.
- Objects that glow red when you hit them can still be broken with enough impacts, or by cooling them down then hitting them.
- Dismantling and reforging equipment fully refunds the previously used materials, so there's no penalty to experimenting.
- Upgrading equipment permanently increases the number of materials you need to slot, so you can't cheese the system by switching to lower-tier materials before upgrading.
- The first time you defeat a world boss you will unlock the corresponding magic power regardless of whether you use the Harvest method, so don't worry if you can't figure it out the first time around. Defeating the boss will give you a Codex entry which explains exactly how to Harvest it in future.
- Although the game says that dialogue doesn't change the main story, you can optionally romance party members. The actual dialogue choice to start a romance is pretty obvious, but unlocking it in the first place does require you to make specific dialogue choices in previous conversations with that character.
