  • There are no "super effective" attacks in terms of beast types, they mostly create weird interactions that you can ignore. The only one to watch out for is if something creates a wall, which completely blocks attacks.
  • Type matchups are important - unlike Pokemon, it doesn't affect the damage, but will apply effects to the attacker or defender that can make things a lot easier/harder to deal with.
  • The game gives you a lot of quests to start. You can take them at your own pace, there's no time limit or anything
  • New traversal abilities are gained by recording certain beasts. There's no indication which beast will give you an ability, but they're not particularly rare, so catch all that you can.
  • When one of your beasts (that is capable of evolution) reaches five stars, you'll get the opportunity to 'remaster' them, changing them to a new beast at star level 1. However, there are secret ways to remaster certain beasts (like having certain stickers attached) that will get you different results. These are usually hinted at in the game but you could just look online for a list.
  • Play with the music on, especially when you fuse.
