From Before I Play

  • Pay attention to the tutorials but if you do skip them you can find them under Help in the pause menu.
  • Playing the first game is recommended but not at all required as this one does a good job of summarizing the important parts.
  • Skills still level up by using them, and most are pretty easy to max out if you're doing a lot of the side quests. Some even make the controls more responsive as Henry gets better at the skill, e.g. combat, lockpicking, etc.
  • The crime system is fairly advanced, if you work with the miller they can help explain the thievery skills better.
  • You can work for both the miller and blacksmith up until the quests to actually go to the wedding and then you have to pick
and the choice doesn't change much at all
    .
  • You can sneak and throw a rock, this is not only a distraction tool but it can also be used to knock down nests which can hold lockpicks and smithing parts...and eggs.
  • Every two levels in a skill you get a perk, unlike the first game there aren't ones with huge downsides attached, but there are still a few that are exclusive from each other and this will be noted at the bottom of their descriptions.
  • There's a perk called Explorer that reveals the whole map, but this includes some labeled points of interest that may be spoilers depending on when you pick the perk. You can just ignore it until you're ready.
  • The game will warn you about points of no return but you will be able to go back eventually to clean up stuff you missed, except for
    Trosky Castle
    .
  • Some quests have solutions that aren't marked or will only show up after talking with some of the people involved. Sometimes thinking outside of the box works.
  • If someone emphasizes that a quest is urgent then it's probably one of the few timed quests or if they say they want to meet you tomorrow morning they mean it.
