  • Learn the haggling minigame, and learn it well. It is a critical source of revenue throughout the game.
  • Regarding previous note: haggle with everyone trying to sell you something. The discounts you can receive are massive even on Normal haggling difficulty.
  • Make business decisions regarding potion quality. The basic healing/poison potions aren't going to sell for very much even at level 3 strength (approximately 50 gold), so don't use expensive ingredients to make them. Conversely the farther from center you go, the pricier the potions become & it may make more sense to use one or two expensive plants as opposed to several of the cheaper variety.
  • Be careful what recipes you save. Plants & mushrooms will grow randomly near the tree daily, but if you've saved a recipe that requires rocks and the miner hasn't been around for a while you won't be able to use the recipe; you'll have to re-path it with whatever ingredients you have on-hand every time you need that potion until the miner returns (and even then you're not guaranteed that he'll have anything you need in stock, or that he'll have enough of them available at an affordable enough price to carry you over until his next appearance!).
  • SAVE THE RECIPE FOR EVERY POTION REQUIRED TO MAKE ANY OF THE ALCHEMICAL STONES. They are not one-and-done recipes. That obnoxious five-in-one potion that isn't useful for any other purpose will be required again and you will be very annoyed that you have to redo it if you didn't save the recipe.
