* For most enemies you'll want to shoot them in the legs(or with the shotgun if you need to do it quickly) to knock them down and then run up an use a match to kill them instantly. Bonus points if you happen to catch multiple guys with one match since it kind of has a radius when you light a guy up.

* Using the above strategy, you can get through the game just fine without buying any damage upgrades for the basic revolver or shotgun, using them as tools to knock down standard enemies that you can't kill with stealth/single-use weapons/etc., and using your harder-hitting weapons (like harpoons) as actual damage-dealers on bosses or more dangerous regular enemies.

* You can do stealth kills from the front if you hit an enemy in the face with a bottle which is kind of hard to do and i don't think it works if they have a mask on but it's worth the saved ammo if you can do it.

* Past the first 3 chapters the game doesn't really expect you to stealth the entirety of rooms(there is even an enemy type that will remind you of the las plagas guys from RE4 that CAN"T be stealth killed) so it's okay if you get spotted just work on taking out as many as you can before inevitably have to fight. With that said the game makes it very clear when you ARE suppose to be sneaky and not get caught at all though.

* The game's story doesn't make a lot of sense and isn't even really talked about or even explained a little bit until much later so don't worry about being confused.

* Yes the grab attacks are very annoying, there's not a lot you can do other than just be slightly far away enough so that you don't get grabbed

* Don't bother upgrading the headshot crits on the sniper rifle; upgrading the attack makes it so powerful that even an arm shot will kill any normal Haunted.
* The final battle is a cinematic gimmick fight done entirely with special weapons, so unlike Resident Evil, don't feel the need to hoard your magnum ammo. It's most useful for your later encounters with Keepers.
* There are 47 locker keys in the game, but only 45 lockers, so don't despair if you missed one.
* Be sure to check out the model viewer when you beat the game, since it will fill in some story details (like what exactly the Haunted are).

* For most enemies you'll want to shoot them in the legs(or with the shotgun if you need to do it quickly) to knock them down and then run up an use a match to kill them instantly. Bonus points if you happen to catch multiple guys with one match since it kind of has a radius when you light a guy up.
* The powerful cloaked enemies that show up later in the game can be one-shotted with either a flaming harpoon bolt or a max-attack sniper rifle.
* The best way to deal with the invisible enemies in chapters 4 and 5 is flash bolts. Just aim one at the ground and the flash will stun them no matter where they are.
* When dealing with a large group of Haunted, a Spark Bolt is very efficient, since it opens them up for a mass match kill, but unlike knocking them down they can't swing at you and interrupt it, and any Haunted that tries to interfere will get caught in the electricity as well. This is very handy in the last series of fights.
* In your first encounter with Keepers (they'll be stronger later so this won't apply there) the best way to kill them is with either one maxed out explosive bolt, one shot from a max-attack sniper rifle or one flaming harpoon bolt followed by a few handgun shots. So keep that in mind if you feel like farming them.
* If they're not in a room where you can crush them with a spike trap, flaming harpoon bolts are the best way to deal with the two-headed enemies.
