* Sometimes you'll run across unique enemies and there's no good way to tell how high their level is without fighting them. But you can't flee those battles once you've found out you're outmatched. The characters do have a little chat when you're close, but I've found what they say isn't reliable (e.g. "We've got no chance against that thing" when it's only 1 level above mine). I had to save the game, get into the fight, and quit to the main menu if I was under-levelled.

* If you find that it takes a long time to fight various enemies, it might be because you don't use Alphen's life-draining charge attacks. True, they take life off you, but they do a lot more damage than regular artes, so it seems like the game throws enemies at you expecting you to use them.
