The Legend of Tianding

- Whenever you do enough damage to a normal enemy, they're open to the red sash grapple. First time you do it, you'll steal the enemy's weapon if they have one and also knock some coins out of them. You can continue to hit them with this past that until you take them out, but it does no damage on its own, so you just need to be a little clever with it.
- There's a lot of collectables in this game. Each one has a benefit attached to it, some of it in stats and others in unlocking new things (like being able to use your special moves to deflect projectiles). Plenty of them are going to be in your way, the rest you have to earn.
- There are also talismans that can be equipped to give you more of an edge like faster stamina regeneration or being able to heal more from food. You can switch these up while in town, but you can't do it during missions unless you're at a checkpoint.
- The beggars in town have some of this stuff for you and there's three tiers of how much money you have to hand over for them to part with it. You'll know when you've cleared them out when they just offer thanks.
- There are two difficulty settings for the game. Gentleman Thief is the normal setting and Wanted Outlaw is the hardcore setting. On top of making the enemies more aggressive and doing a touch more damage, the stages will also have additional hazards to navigate through. You can switch the difficulty at will, but you need to start and finish the game on Wanted Outlaw for that specific trophy/achievement.
- There are some side quests to deal with and pretty much all of them require you to get the relevant collectables from a mission so you can do them. If you already have what they're asking for, just back off from them and then approach so that the scene can trigger for your reward.
- For the handful of side quests that have an actual choice attached, there are some trophies/achievements attached for doing them the wrong way and the right way. If you care about that at all, do the wrong way first and then the right way; the game is kind enough to let you do that.
- If an enemy has a glow in their pocket, that means they still have something potentially worth stealing. This is handy for filling out the collection list and also finding whatever talismans you're missing. Just mind you only get the one attempt to earn that item; if they don't cough it up, move on and try another.
- Bosses also have a collectable to steal. Like with normal enemies, this is entirely up to chance. You can always rematch them for it, so don't stress.
